Activities

AN INCUBATOR OF IDEAS CREATED BY SCHOLARS, RESEARCHERS, ENTREPRENEURS, AND PRODUCER ORGANIZATIONS TO PROMOTE THE INNOVATION AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF FRUIT SUPPLY CHAINS.

Horticulture is currently going through a significant shift: simply producing fruit is no longer sufficient to ensure economic sustainability. Alongside high yields of top-quality produce, growers are increasingly expected to deliver ecosystem services, such as reducing their carbon footprint and minimizing the use of pesticides, water, and fertilizers. At the same time, they must build more resilient operations capable of withstanding emerging climate challenges, including droughts, floods, frost events, and rising temperatures, while also dealing with a growing shortage of labor.

Meeting these challenges requires the adoption—and effective integration—of technological and digital solutions, including robotics, advanced sensing technologies, and artificial intelligence applications.

Through its Advisory Board and its network of relationships with research centers and fruit supply chains in leading producing countries, FRESH provides expertise to support growers in navigating these changes. This support is delivered through training programs, in-depth insights, and the exploration of innovative solutions, aligned with the needs and priorities expressed by its Members.

By drawing on the know-how of international experts, FRESH is able to respond to a wide range of knowledge requirements, offering activities delivered in person, in blended formats, and online. The Foundation also provides state-of-the-art facilities and expertise in conference organization, communication, data sharing, feasibility studies, the preparation of proposals for competitive funding calls, and public relations with stakeholders at regional, national, and international level.
